Kessner is probably the best thing that happened to East Harlem in
the last 25 years. Since 1983, Kessner has been renovating broken
down buildings and turning them into quality, affordable housing.
Throughout the years, more than 25,000 tenants benefited from Steven
Kessner’s foresite. Today, East Harlem is enjoying a renaissance
thanks largely to developers like Steven Kessner. However, aside
from his real estate ventures, Steven Kessner has invested in the
people of East Harlem. If you ask the children in the neighborhood
who Steven Kessner is, they will tell you he was the sponsor of
their baseball team or that he was primarily responsible for
building the Harlem RBI Field of Dreams. As a director of RBI,
Kessner helped to take it from a small organization to one with over
$3 million in annual revenues. Dozens of children obtained college
scholarships through Steven Kessner’s efforts. Now, Kessner is
purchasing over 100 acres in Sullivan County New York which will be
the site for a summer camp, which children from East Harlem and
other inner city neighborhoods can attend and discover the wonders
